she flagged me down one day on the highyway. i picked her up and we ended up sitting at the edge of a cozy wood nestled between a nice fire and a bustling river. i petted her and she licked me and thats about as far as it went.....

dont know where she is now. never saw her again. :-*

BTW
&
I thought I might give some of y'all folks an opportunity to get to know me and my styling / approach to percussion some.

I don't JUST play the washboard all the time. I became rather well known and heralded from playing the washboard. However, I also play drums along with the washboard at the same time, capturing an amalgamation of rhythem that might other wise not be heard. I do all of this with my finger tips and rarely need to be mic'd. I scratch and pull at my 'board while firing my footcannon bass drum and hi-hat and striking my snare back and forth from my 'board ussing all parts of my fingers and hands to accomplish different sounds along the way.
The result is very busy yet relative.
Most people enjoy watching my performance as much as they do listening to my rhythms. They ussually tell me that I looks and sounds like i'm swingin Five limbs to accomplish my sound...And that I sound like several drummers/percussionists playing separate beats to the same song at the same time.

I also realy enjoy subtle playing to slow and or driving Blues. I REALLY dig the art of putting ONE scratch, rub, slap, tap, or beat right where it belongs. I do this alot on covers like The Sky Is Crying (E. James), Honest I Do (J. Reed) and on originals like Last Train Blues, Nobody But You etc.

I will ocassionally pick up sticks or brushes and put down the washboard while i just jam on the drums and cymbols for a song or two.

likewise i will occassionally step out from behind the drums and show folks why they call me Washboard!

Well, there's some "gettin' to you me" info about your featured artist of the month.

feel free to post up Qs: & or Comments

I'll post more later...peace

::)

I may be predjudiced, but I have to say that Washboard Jackson's music has renewed an old interest in the blues. I especially like the song he wrote called "King of Mean".
I doubt I will be a "Fan-atic" about blues, but at least I remembered why I liked it. It is the story of life. It is the feeling of life.

Stay above ground... :D
